Before We Begin
A celebrant creates and leads personalised ceremonies to mark life’s most meaningful moments. Unlike a standard religious or registry service, a celebrant-led ceremony is shaped around your story, your values and what matters most to you.
At The Alchemist Ceremonies, every ceremony is created with warmth, care and genuine attention to detail. My approach blends thoughtful storytelling, meaningful rituals and personal connection to create something that feels authentic, memorable and completely your own.
When you work with The Alchemist Ceremonies, you can expect:
I’m based in Kent and work across the South East, but I’m always happy to travel across the UK and beyond for the right ceremony. If you have a particular location in mind, just get in touch and we can talk through the details.
A celebrant-led ceremony gives you much more flexibility than a traditional service. It allows you to choose the tone, location, wording and structure, creating something that feels personal, inclusive and truly reflective of the people at its heart.
Wedding Ceremony FAQs
A celebrant-led wedding is a fully personalised ceremony created just for you. It gives you the freedom to celebrate your relationship in a way that feels authentic, meaningful and relaxed, without being restricted by a standard format.
At the moment, celebrant-led weddings in England and Wales are not legally binding on their own. Most couples choose to complete the legal paperwork separately at a registry office, then have their personalised ceremony with me.
Absolutely. Personal vows are one of the loveliest ways to make your ceremony feel truly your own. If you’d like a little help finding the right words, I can guide you through that too.
I can create a wide range of wedding ceremonies, including:
Yes — symbolic rituals can add a beautiful extra layer of meaning to your ceremony. Popular options include handfasting, sand ceremonies, unity candles and ring warming, but we can also create something completely unique to reflect your story.
For weddings, I recommend booking 6–12 months in advance, especially during peak season. That said, if your timeline is shorter, do still get in touch as I may be able to help.
One of the joys of a celebrant-led wedding is flexibility. Your ceremony can be held in a venue, outdoors, at home, or somewhere that means something special to you, as long as the practical arrangements allow for it.
Funeral & Memorial FAQs
A celebrant-led funeral is a personalised ceremony created to honour and reflect the life of the person who has died. It can be non-religious, spiritual, or include religious elements, depending on what feels right for the individual and their family.
I can support a range of funeral and memorial services, including:
I work closely with family and friends to gather stories, memories and meaningful details about the person being remembered. From there, I create a ceremony that feels genuine, respectful and full of warmth.
Yes, absolutely. If prayers, readings or spiritual elements feel important to you or your loved one, these can be woven into the ceremony in a way that feels natural and appropriate.
I understand that funerals are often time-sensitive and can usually arrange and deliver a ceremony within a few days, depending on availability.
Often, the celebrant fee is included within the overall cost through the funeral director. If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to explain how this works.
Not necessarily — this is completely optional. Some families like to have a printed order of service for guests, while others prefer to keep things simple.
Yes. A funeral or memorial ceremony can be held in a variety of locations, including outdoor spaces, private venues, family homes or somewhere personally meaningful.
Naming Ceremonies FAQs
A naming ceremony is a non-religious celebration that welcomes a child into their family and community. It’s a chance to share their name, your story and your hopes for the future in a meaningful and personal way.
Anyone you choose. Many families include supporting adults (sometimes called guide parents), as well as siblings, grandparents and close friends. It’s a lovely way to involve the people who will play a role in your child’s life.
Yes — many naming ceremonies include promises from parents and supporting adults, along with readings, music or symbolic rituals. Everything is shaped around what feels right for your family.
Not at all. Naming ceremonies can also celebrate adoption, blended families, or name changes — including gender identity journeys or new beginnings.
Naming ceremonies can be held at home, outdoors or in a venue across Kent and the South East. The flexibility allows you to choose a setting that feels relaxed and meaningful.
