Not at all. Naming ceremonies can also celebrate adoption, blended families, or name changes — including gender identity journeys or new beginnings.
Who can be involved in the ceremony?
Anyone you choose. Many families include supporting adults (sometimes called guide parents), as well as siblings, grandparents and close friends. It’s a lovely way to involve the people who will play a role in your child’s life.
